History and origin

The first entry on the historic Golden Retriever dog dates from the early nineteenth century, when the race was a popular hunting dog in Scotland. Golden Retriever is a dog of medium size, sturdy, well proportioned, with a relatively round head, more wide than long and eyes in various shades of cream and gold, with dark eyelashes.
